Congratulations Malyon Bimler, who submitted her PhD thesis last month! Maylon’s thesis is titled ‘Adding complexity to coexistence: lessons from empirical communities’. Pictured is Malyon in the Whitsundays, sailing away the stress and hard work of finishing her thesis. A very well deserved adventure.

A huge congratulations to Dr Trace Martyn, who was officially awarded her PhD from the University of Queensland this week. And Trace already has a postdoc job position lined up at the University of Arizona, and she starts there soon. We’re all very proud of you Trace! The lab won’t be the same without you, but look forward to hearing about all of your future successes.

Despite the unique times the world finds itself in, research in the Mayfield Lab goes on. And while we temporarily each work at home, we continue to hang out using the magic of modern technology. We all look forward to getting out of our home offices and having face to face meetings and hang outs again, but online meetings are surprisingly pretty awesome too!
